Lesson starter question

This question is to be solved during class tomorrow and I am expecting to see a response posted in the comment post from all students. You may answer in pairs if access to macs is a problem. You must indicate this in your answer using initals. You may use calculators but must show your calculations in your answer. This is a good habit for your tests and exams.

A furniture salesperson gets paid a $185 retainer each week as well as receiving 1.5% commission on sales. If the salesperson sells $11,680 worth of furniture in one week, what is their income for that week?

Statistics Central Tendency

Today we covered manipulating mean to solve questions. One key feature before calculating any of the questions is to find the total of the scores in all cases. This information is usually invaluable in
a) finding missing scores
b) calculating required scores
c) calculating overall (combined) means
d) calculating new means following changes

This is not an exhaustive list however it covers most situations that occur in 2AB MAT course.
